The Care Plan Approach Intranet System is a database application, which Morgansoft Consultants redesigned and launched in November 2006. The NHS commissioned the new intranet application in order to cleanse the existing mental health data and prepare it for national roll-out next year.

The new web interface provides staff with improved navigation and a dashboard system, which enables faster interaction with patient data. It has some new enhanced features which include export printing to word, spell checking against a medical dictionary, read and write pages for each record and a full custom report wizard. Staff can now log patient letters into the system and record prescribed medication. The system uses forms authentication to validate a users credentials and establish access rights to the patient data.

The database has been redesigned to incorporate a full audit trail, which can provide a historical view of a client’s record at any point throughout the episode of care. The application connects to national NHS databases to retrieve client demographic records and G.P. information.
